The history of Hotel Cleopatra on Ischia
A family history spanning three generations
In the green heart of Ischia, Hotel Cleopatra is much more than just a hotel.
It is a welcoming home, a story that has continued for over three generations, and a promise of authentic hospitality.
The name Cleopatra was not chosen at random. It all began in the early 1960s, when the hotel was still a new, unnamed property. At that time, several scenes from the famous film Cleopatra, starring Liz Taylor and Richard Burton, were shot on the island.
On that occasion, 20th Century Fox rented our hotel, still without an official name, to accommodate the cast and crew for two years.

Michele, our father, was the source of the warm and genuine atmosphere that permeates our hotel, a legacy we proudly and lovingly uphold today.
